Police Headquarters Elevator Modernization

Wu & Associates served as the design-build contractor to modernize the four elevators at the San Diego Police Headquarters Building. The work involved the installation of new gearless electric traction machines with a modern microcomputer-based control system, new emergency and communication systems, as well specific ADA upgrades to the paths of travel within the building. Work was phased to accommodate the fully occupied facility. The mission critical nature of the building operations required extra high security measures for all construction activities.
