Smithville Historic Park Restoration

Smithville Historic Park Restoration

Located within the Burlington County Parks System, the Smithville Historic District (National Register #77000856) remains a historical centerpiece.   Originally a small mill operation in the 1860’s, the village expanded into a major industrial plant in the 1920’s.  Wu & Associates worked on three main houses – 8 & 9 Park Avenue, and 34 Maple Avenue.  Restoration work included repairs to wood windows and doors, new interior finishes, new mechanical and electrical systems, and additions to make the structure accessible.  The project also included moving the building at 34 Maple Avenue, in order to complete the brick foundation walls.

Accolades: Wu & Associates received the 2012 Grand Jury Award from the Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia for excellence while completing this project.
